Menu Plan August 8

We ate well this past week!  Mr. Homegrown is happy.  I am stuffed.  The little Beanes have grown.  It was a successful week.  We started the week with easy Taco Muffins.  We all liked them.  They are easy and I think they would freeze well.  We also had a family favorite of Rotisserie Chicken in the crockpot.  To go with this I made Paula Deen's Tomato Pie.  If you are looking for a side dish that is impressive looking and delicious, give this one a try.  It is so good.  My mom came over for dinner and she loved it.  She doesn't like much so this is a true compliment.  The Tutti Fruity chicken kabobs are going to move to the family favorites.  They are "killer" according to Mr. Homegrown.  All Beanes loved them.  It is so funny to watch Jelly Beane eat.  She is 10 months and seems to have gotten my love of eating!  The orange chicken was also very good.  I reserved some of the chicken nuggets to give to String Beane and Butter Beane without the orange sauce.  String Beane is pretty clear that he does not like sauce!  This recipe is a definite repeater.  We did not get around to the Chicken gyros so they are moving to this week.

Friday Favorites!

Another great week searching for more great food to make!  I love seeing what other people are cooking.  Some of it so creative.  All of it is yummy.  Here are my top picks for this week.


Vegan English Muffins
I have actually already made these.  Wow! Don't let the word "vegan" keep you from making these.  They are so good.  Do yourself a favor and make some.

Mocha Coconut Iced Coffees
I can't wait to try this drink.  It actually is milk free so my String Beane could have some if he wanted to.  It sounds so yummy.

All the S'Mores recipes floating around make me want to go camping.  Until I think about how there are no bathrooms in the woods.  Then I ask Mr. Homegrown to build a fire in the fire pit.

I am not a big drinker.  Mostly because I have been pregnant and, or, breastfeeding for the last six years.  But this picture makes me want to 'pump and dump' for Miss Jelly Beane.  Or maybe not.  She is a horrible sleeper.  Maybe this would help!

Siesta Scripture Memory

I am so proud of myself! I memorized 1 Thes. 5:16-18. I have never tried to memorize scripture before. I think it is a wonderful tool for your devotion and walk with God. I am participating in Beth Moore's  Siesta Scripture Memory Challenge. My verse for this two week block is from Phil. 4:8.

Menu Plan August 1

My computer is still sick!  I so hope I can get if fixed this week.  Not being able to use a laptop is such a pain. 
Meals this week went very well.  Not much exciting in the menu so not much exciting in the meal times.  The ham steak is always a tried and true hit.  Hot dogs ~ 3 kids ~ duh!  The turkey meatballs for the subs were the biggest hit.  All the little Beanes liked them.  Mr. Homegrown and I had ours on subs with leftover spaghetti sauce.  We liked it.  The waffles of insane greatness speak for themselves.  They are always a hit.

On to this week.  Two baseball games this week but I am feeling a little more energetic in my meal planning this week.  So here we go:

Friday Favorites Finds

I look so forward to fridays.  I love to see what everyone else has bookmarked and pinned.  Everything always looks so good!  Here are my top picks for this week!

I am having a hard time typing while this picture is in front of me.  This is about the best looking thing I have ever seen.

I am pretty sure I can make this one milk free.  I think String Beane might like it.  He loves lemon.

Butter Beane is really into Cars right now.  Maybe he will eat dinner if it is in Lightning Mc Queen.

I have had a lot of sucess making pudding for String Beane with Coconut milk.  I think I will try this recipe and make rainbow pudding pops.

Menu Plan July 25

I am a bit late posting my menu plan for this week.  My laptop is sick.  I think it has caught a virus.  I hope it can get fixed this week.  Any who, last weeks meals went very well.  The overall hit of the week was the Mar-a-lago turkey burgers.  They were eaten by everyone!  String Beane and Butter Beane ate there's without me begging them and little Jelly Beane gummed on some.  Mr. Homegrown said they were good but he preferred hamburger.  Big surprise there.  The spaghetti and garlic bread sticks is a family favorite and so is the pizza.  The vegetable soup is one of my favorites.  I just can't get my little Beanes to get enthusiastic about soup.  They ate some. Mostly the crackers.  I even found alphabet shaped pasta to go in the soup.  Do your kids eat soup? 
This week's menu is pretty light.  We have two baseball games this week so we are not trying anything new.

Friday Favorite Finds

It was so hard to narrow down what my favorite finds were this week.  Here are my top 5 favorites!
This just looks like summer!  I have already bought a seedless watermelon and will try this out this week!

I don't have anything to add to the photo.

I have never had a huge problem eating cookie dough before.  I would always make the dough, eat about half of it, and end up with about a dozen cookies ;-).  This might be a little better to feed to the little Beanes.

I am going to substitute the cheese in these with Daiya cheese and make them for String Beane.  I think they will be a hit!

It seems like I have a major sweet tooth this week!  Maybe this frozen chocolate banana dessert will make feel like I am eating healthy.  It looks delicious.
